Rimowa & hunza g: the summer flight attendants' secret weapon

Forget the beige, predictable carry-ons of your average Fashion traveler. By July, a peek inside the Rimowa cabin bag of the woman who’s jetting off to Capri is a reliable indicator of summer's true uniform: a dash of effortless cool and a serious commitment to sun-soaked style.

The essentials – and it’s not what you think

Let’s be clear: you’ll find a pair of Havaianas flip-flops – either the rubber classics or, let’s be honest, a ruinously expensive Row iteration – a 111 Skin under-eye patch strategically positioned, a freshly printed magazine (Famesick or Yesteryear, naturally, snagged at Hudson News), and a discreet baseball cap bearing an IYKYK logo. But the real tell? At least one Hunza G crinkle swimsuit.

A collaboration years in the making

A collaboration years in the making

This summer, thanks to a partnership between Burberry and Hunza G, those coveted swimsuits are hitting the skies in a way that feels… almost inevitable. Georgiana Huddart, Hunza G’s creative director, admits the collaboration has been a “wishlist item” for five years. “It’s honestly a dream,” she says, describing the limited-edition collection of bikinis, one-piece suits, skirts, and scrunchies – all crafted in Hunza G’s signature stretch crinkle fabric and punctuated with Burberry’s iconic check. It’s not just nostalgia; it’s heritage, expertly blended.

The synergy is undeniable. “We’ve kind of been organically tag-teaming around the same girls,” Huddart explains, referencing names like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who first boosted Hunza G’s profile in a 2025 Burberry high summer campaign. “Rosie was the first major celeb to organically find us – she bought five pieces off the website and was just posting about them.” Now, Alva Claire and Simone Ashley are similarly championing the collection, a testament to the brands' shared aesthetic.

Beyond the swimsuit: a uniform of quiet luxury

But it's more than just swimwear. Huddart herself packs the Tyler bikini for her own summer holidays – “in black, because I’m boring and I only wear black” – alongside the Devyn swim skirt. “It can be worn as a boob tube or a miniskirt,” she notes, “I like the versatility. It offers a bit more coverage if you want to wear it as a skirt, but it actually looks great with jeans – I can see a lot of people doing that.” Her travel uniform? Black Ray-Bans, a black silk slip dress, black satin trousers, black net Alaïa flats, and, of course, a Burberry tote.

A return to the '90s glow

Huddart’s vision is simple: “Anywhere near the sea with my family.” She’s perpetually haunted by the sunshine and optimism of the ‘90s, a feeling she seeks to capture in every collection. “It’s a timeless one that doesn’t necessarily indicate we’re in 2026.” And that, perhaps, is the most stylish secret weapon of all.
