Just weeks before the big day, and amidst Wimbledon training, Paul hopped on a Zoom call from London to unveil his custom Burberry look. “I don’t wear suits often,” he admitted. “Tennis sometimes calls for galas, but this is a different beast entirely.” And Burberry is certainly pulling out all the stops – crafting individual ensembles for Paul, his mother, and ten groomsmen scattered across continents, from Los Angeles to Miami to New York and London.

The brand’s team has been a whirlwind of activity, dispatching bespoke fitters to every corner of the globe. From meticulously measuring Riley Opelka – a towering 6’11” – to securing the perfect drape for Frances Taifoe before a match, the commitment is staggering.

A trio of looks

But the centerpiece, undeniably, is the three-piece collection Paul is sporting. It begins with a single-breasted brown wool suit paired with wide-leg trousers – a rehearsal dinner look. Then comes the ceremony suit, followed by a classic tuxedo with a striking shawl lapel for the reception. Burberry’s signature British tailoring gets a contemporary twist, resulting in what Paul himself described as “some of the best damn suits he's ever worn.”

“It’s a moment that just feels right,” Paul explained. “It’s about reflecting on the journey, the smaller moments that got me here.”

Beyond the fabric: a personal reflection

The process, according to Burberry, involved a deep dive into Paul’s past. “In tennis, we sometimes have galas or events that we have to go to. We dress up a little bit, but this will be a whole different level,” he recalled, recalling a conversation with the brand's team. He initially considered a more traditional black tux, but ultimately was swayed by a double-breasted suit – a style he’s rarely worn. “There’s no other time that I’m really going to rock a double-breasted suit,” he said, emphasizing the significance of the choice.
