Copenhagen Fashion Week's 20th Anniversary: Resilience Shines Through

After four days of back-to-back shows, Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) has wrapped up its spring 2027 season, marking a milestone 20th anniversary. The packed schedule drew the event's largest crowd ever, as brands flocked to celebrate CPHFW's anniversary.

International Guests Make a Splash

In a bid to solidify Copenhagen's status as the world's fifth fashion capital, CPHFW has never been more international. Emerging brands like London's Paolina Russo and Lagos-based Iamisigo, both past winners of the Zalando Visionary Award, returned to the Danish capital for another season.

Paolina Russo's show was one of the week's buzziest, featuring a battle of the bands between Olivia Rodrigo support act Grace Ives and Copenhagen music group Haloplus+, as well as a 600-strong audience comprised of fans and members of the public.

Zalando Visionary Award Winner Shines

This year's Zalando Visionary Award winner, Institution by Galib Gassanoff, presented a standout show. Normally showcasing in Milan, Gassanoff created a special collection for its guest slot, taking over Copenhagen's Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK) to fill its central atrium with rich, woven carpets sourced from the Caucuses, Anatolia, Northern Iran, and Central Asia.

The collection celebrated Georgian and Azerbaijani crafts, nodding to Gassanoff's roots, and managed to capture both the minimalism of Copenhagen fashion and its love of hygge.
