Harry & meghan set to channel 'gossip girl' vibes with new netflix polo drama

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are returning to Netflix with a new scripted drama centered around the world of polo. The Duke and Duchess, through their Archewell Productions, are collaborating with the creators of Gossip Girl and The O.C., Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, on the project, according to a report by Deadline.

High-stakes rivalries on the green

The series will unfold in Wellington, Florida, the equestrian hub of the high-society polo circuit, focusing on the intense rivalries between two polo teams and the families that control them. This isn't the couple’s first foray into the world of polo; they previously produced a documentary series on the sport, a project widely believed to have fueled this latest venture.

The project arrives amid reports that the couple had strained ties with Netflix, following the streamer’s decision not to renew With Love, Meghan for a third season and pulling investment from Meghan’s beauty brand, As Ever. However, the polo drama signals a renewed partnership.

Beyond the polo series, Archewell Productions has a first-look deal with Netflix that includes adaptations of two romance novels: Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake. Harry, a former polo player who still participates in charity matches – most recently at the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen, Colorado, in December 2025 – will likely lend his personal experience to the show's authenticity.

The show's development comes as Netflix continues to expand its foray into scripted content featuring prominent figures. The Sussexes' previous collaboration with Netflix, the documentary Harry & Meghan, garnered significant viewership in 2022. The polo drama—a blend of competitive sport and familial drama—promises to be a compelling watch.
